File-name disclosure via unchecked FileSelector paths
Published Sep 17, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024
Path traversal in Contao before 4.13.49 allows remote authenticated users to list file names outside permitted roots through FileSelector. FileSelector::renderFiletree accepted a supplied path without first checking that it fell under the backend user's configured file mounts. Backend access is required, and the flaw exposes names only; file contents cannot be viewed and files cannot be edited.
