Memory corruption via raced hardware-encoder snapshot buffer
Published Feb 3, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025
Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Camera allows local users to corrupt memory while taking a snapshot with the hardware encoder. The camera snapshot path uses a userspace-controlled buffer without ensuring that its validated state remains unchanged before hardware encoding. Local low-privilege access is required, and successful exploitation can expose or alter camera-path data or interrupt its operation.
