Tampered boot via post-verification IFS2 overwrite

Out-of-bounds write in Qualcomm Snapdragon Auto platforms allows local users to boot a tampered IFS2 system image. The boot flow accepts an IFS2 image as verified, then permits that image to be overwritten without repeating verification before use. Local access with no authentication or user interaction is sufficient to inject unauthorized programs into security-sensitive images, compromising the system that subsequently boots.

What happened
