Memory corruption via global maps list race
Published May 6, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Use-after-free in Qualcomm Snapdragon DSP firmware allows local users to corrupt memory during concurrent SSR execution. The DSP service permits concurrent SSR paths to race while accessing the global maps list, allowing an entry to be freed while another path still uses it. Successful exploitation requires low-privileged local access; Qualcomm has not disclosed whether the corruption yields code execution, data access, or only a device crash.
