Session JavaScript execution via malformed image HTML
Published May 14, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Stored XSS in affected Zimbra Collaboration releases allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript when a user views a crafted email. The Classic UI insufficiently sanitizes malformed img elements in email HTML, allowing embedded JavaScript event handlers to enter the rendered message. Exposure requires viewing the message in the Classic UI on 8.8.15 before Patch 47, 9.0.0 before Patch 43, 10.0.x before 10.0.12, or 10.1.x before 10.1.4; execution occurs in the user's session and can expose sensitive information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
