Unauthorized mailbox actions via unsanitized contact fields
Published Nov 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Zimbra Collaboration 10.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script when a victim saves a crafted contact. Modern UI fails to sanitize attacker-controlled email fields before persisting them in the victim's contact record and rendering the contact list. Exploitation requires the victim to add the sender to contacts and view the contact list; the script can send mail, exfiltrate mailbox data, or alter the profile picture.
