CVE-2024-45498Network attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unquoted Jinja interpolation

Published Sep 7, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024

Command injection in Apache Airflow 2.10.0 allows remote authenticated users with DAG trigger permission to execute arbitrary commands. The example_inlet_event_extra.py DAG inserts inlet event extra metadata directly into a BashOperator command through an unquoted Jinja expression. The example DAG, or a DAG copied from it, must be deployed and triggerable; injected text then runs in the task execution context.
