Remote internal-account access via local-only check bypass
Published Dec 10, 2024 · Updated Jan 6, 2025
Missing authorization in MSA FieldServer Gateway 5.0.0 through 6.5.2 allows remote attackers to authenticate as internal users. The network login path fails to enforce the authorization check that limits internal accounts to local device access. Exploitation requires knowledge of an internal account password and grants that account's existing device privileges; no privilege escalation beyond the account is reported.
