CVE-2024-45488Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated administrative access via hard-coded cookie key

Published Aug 30, 2024 · Updated Mar 13, 2025

Authentication bypass in One Identity Safeguard for Privileged Passwords before 7.5.2 allows remote attackers to gain administrative access. The virtual appliance images reuse a hard-coded Windows DPAPI master key, allowing RSTS cookie validation to accept forged stsIdentity0 values. No authentication or user interaction is required; a forged administrator session exposes stored credentials and appliance configuration.
