CVE-2024-45479Network attack vector

Internal service access via unvalidated service hostname

Published Jan 21, 2025 · Updated Jun 10, 2025

SSRF in the Edit Service page of Apache Ranger 2.4.0 allows remote attackers to make the server request attacker-supplied hosts. The Edit Service handler accepts a service-configuration hostname and lets the Ranger server connect without rejecting localhost or other attacker-chosen destinations. The Admin UI must be network-reachable, and successful requests can read or alter data exposed by services reachable from the Ranger server.
