Stored XSS via unescaped parameter descriptions
Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024
Stored XSS in Apache NiFi 1.10.0 through 1.27.0 and 2.0.0-M1 through 2.0.0-M3 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript. The parameter-context tooltip passes parameter.description directly to qTip as HTML instead of escaping user-controlled text. Parameter Context configuration permission is required, and a viewing authenticated user’s browser runs the stored script in that user’s session context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
