CVE-2024-45413Network attack vector

Authenticated root code execution via unchecked RSA plaintext

Published Sep 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in HTTPD on affected ZTE ZXHN router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute code as root. The rsa_decrypt LUA API wrapper copies decrypted RSA plaintext into a stack buffer without checking the plaintext length. The affected builds span ZXHN H108N, Z500, E2603, H168N, E2615, E500, E1600, H338A, E2618, and H168A routers; authenticated HTTP access is required.
