CVE-2024-45404Network attack vector

Account takeover via unrestricted OTP guessing

Published Dec 11, 2024 · Updated Dec 12, 2024

Improper authentication in Filigran OpenCTI before 6.2.18 allows remote authenticated users to hijack accounts by brute-forcing OTPs. The otpLogin GraphQL mutation accepts repeated one-time-password guesses without rate limiting, allowing the second factor to be exhausted after valid credentials are supplied. Reachability requires valid account credentials and an account protected by two-factor authentication; successful guessing exposes sensitive data and permits content modification.
