Unrestricted file upload in affected Contao releases allows remote authenticated users with file-manager access to execute server code. FileUpload and file-manager rename paths derived the type from only the final filename suffix, allowing a backend user to add or conceal an executable extension. Exploitation requires a backend account permitted to use the file manager and a web server configured to execute PHP or another uploaded script type.
