Privilege escalation via GUI console authorization bypass
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Incorrect authorization in Fortinet FortiSandbox 4.4.0 through 4.4.6 allows local users with low-privileged admin access to run elevated CLI commands. The GUI console menu exposes CLI commands without enforcing the administrator permission level required by those commands. Reachability requires an authenticated low-privileged administrator session, and successful use grants command privileges beyond that account's assigned role.
