SYSTEM code execution via symbolic-link file deletion
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Link following in SonicWall Connect Tunnel 12.4.3.271 and earlier allows local users to delete arbitrary Windows files and folders. The Secure Mobile Access service follows attacker-created symbolic links during privileged deletion, redirecting the operation to selected paths. Standard local privileges and code execution are required; deletion of chosen files can enable arbitrary code execution as SYSTEM.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
