CVE-2024-45315

Persistent local denial of service via symbolic link

Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Nov 1, 2024

Link-following in SonicWall Connect Tunnel for Windows 12.4.3.271 and earlier allows local users to cause a persistent denial of service. The SonicWall VPN resolves an attacker-created symbolic link while creating a file, allowing placement at a link-selected path. Low-privileged code execution on the host is required, and the resulting file creation can leave the host persistently unavailable.
