Hidden-topic disclosure via unauthorized tag filtering
Published Oct 7, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024
Improper privilege management in Discourse before stable 3.3.2 and beta 3.4.0.beta2 allows remote attackers to view hidden-tag topics. Topic-list filtering accepts a known hidden-tag label without enforcing the tag's visibility restriction; the vendor has not disclosed the responsible code locus. Exploitation requires knowledge of the tag label and a site containing topics under that restriction, and the reported consequence is read-only disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
