Unauthenticated root command execution via hard-coded accounts
Published Oct 15, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in MB connect line mbNET.mini and Helmholz REX 100 firmware through 2.2.13 allow remote attackers to execute root commands. The HTTP server initialization script creates hidden MBCL and remote accounts, then grants them access to configuration CGI forms that execute commands, upload firmware, or change settings. No prior authentication or user interaction is required; network access to the device web service is enough for complete device compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
