Weak configuration encryption in MB connect line and Helmholz products allows local users to recover VPN credentials from exported files. The /etc/rc.d/init.d/cfg script decrypts .mbnx files with Triple DES using a key derived from the predictable serial-number and device-type string. Attackers must obtain an encrypted configuration file; decryption exposes stored secrets and enables undetectable configuration tampering.
