CVE-2024-45260Public exploit

Root code execution via unchecked download authorization

Published Oct 24, 2024 · Updated Oct 28, 2024

Improper access control in GL.iNet router firmware allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files through the /download interface. The handler accepts a session whose ACL group is empty and serves the requested path even though the same session is denied access to /rpc. Low-privilege panel access is required; reading /etc/shadow enables root-panel authentication and root code execution.
