Crash via unchecked Authority Key Identifier pointer
Published Aug 24, 2024 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
NULL pointer dereference in FORT Validator before 1.6.3 allows remote attackers to crash the validator through a crafted resource certificate. The resource-certificate parser dereferences an absent keyIdentifier pointer in the Authority Key Identifier extension without first checking it for null. A malicious RPKI repository beneath a trusted Trust Anchor can deliver the certificate over rsync or RRDP, interrupting Route Origin Validation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
