Denial of service in Django 4.2 before 4.2.16, 5.0 before 5.0.9, and 5.1 before 5.1.1 allows remote attackers to exhaust CPU. The Urlizer.trim_punctuation loop repeatedly rescans long semicolon-and-colon sequences while urlize or urlizetrunc processes untrusted text. Reachability requires an application to apply either filter to attacker-controlled content; successful exploitation interrupts request processing.
