Arbitrary file disclosure via Git Content traversal
Published Aug 23, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024
Path traversal in Mage AI through 0.9.73 allows remote authenticated users with Viewer access to read arbitrary server files. The Git Content handler for GET /api/git_file accepts percent-encoded parent-directory segments and resolves them outside the intended content tree. Viewer credentials and an API key or bearer token are required; successful requests disclose file contents without altering or interrupting the service.
