CVE-2024-45182

Local denial of service via driver bounds check

Published Sep 12, 2024 · Updated Oct 29, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in WIBU-SYSTEMS WibuKey before 6.70 for Windows allows local users to crash the system through crafted driver calls. WibuKey32.sys and WibuKey64.sys perform an improper buffer bounds check on specially crafted calls, permitting an arbitrary-address read. Low-privilege local access is required; the vendor states network exploitation is not possible, and the resulting impact is denial of service.
