Improper authentication in UCI Software GmbH UCI IDOL 2 through 2.12 allows remote attackers to intercept or alter client-server data. The Windows rich client sends data over a raw socket without authenticating its peer, allowing an attacker-controlled listener to impersonate an endpoint. A network position capable of redirecting or receiving the connection is required; the flaw exposes confidentiality and integrity without reported service interruption.
