Privileged data exposure via administrative-console XXE
Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Oct 16, 2024
XXE in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote authenticated users to expose sensitive data through the console. The administrative console processes attacker-controlled XML without securely restricting external entity resolution. Successful exploitation requires privileged console access and can also consume server memory, interrupting service availability.
