CVE-2024-45060Public exploitNetwork attack vector

JavaScript execution via formula-injected sample input

Published Oct 7, 2024 · Updated Oct 8, 2024

Cross-site scripting in affected PHPOffice PhpSpreadsheet releases allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via crafted form input. The 45_Quadratic_equation_solver.php sample concatenates POST coefficients into formulas, evaluates them, and writes unsanitized results into the page. Exploitation requires the sample to be web-accessible and a user to process the crafted request; resulting script runs in that user's browser context.
