Authenticated Administrator escalation via unchecked role change
Published Aug 28, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
Privilege escalation in Portábilis i-Educar before 2.9 allows remote authenticated users to gain Administrator privileges. educar_usuario_cad.php accepts the nivel_usuario_ value in a crafted POST request and changes the caller's role without checking current authorization. Any account with minimal permission to view user-type settings can assign itself a super-privileged role, enabling account access and administrative changes.
