CVE-2024-45053Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted Jinja templates

Published Sep 4, 2024 · Updated Sep 4, 2024

Server-side template injection in Ethyca Fides 2.19.0 through 2.43.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via email templates. The messaging renderer evaluates administrator-controlled Jinja2 statements and expressions in an unrestricted environment that exposes Python methods and objects. An Owner, Contributor, or OAuth client with messaging-template:update access can run commands in the webserver container and reach its database, cache, data stores, and SaaS integrations.
