Service interruption via unauthenticated evaluation triggers
Published Aug 27, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
Missing authentication in NixOS Hydra before commit f730433 allows remote attackers to trigger resource-intensive jobset evaluations. The /api/push handler accepts jobset or repository inputs and invokes triggerJobset without first requiring a user with evaluation privileges. Network access to that route is sufficient; large evaluations can consume enough resources to interrupt service availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
