Stale kernel-memory access via premature vector teardown
Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Use-after-free in Linux idpf 6.7 through 6.10.4 and 6.11-rc1 through 6.11-rc2 allows local users to trigger stale memory access. The driver frees interrupt vectors containing NAPI objects before libeth destroys queues and page pools, leaving page-pool NAPI pointers aimed at freed memory. The flaw is reached during queue destruction on systems using the idpf driver; the documented effect is a rare kernel warning, and further accesses are unconfirmed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
