Stored script execution via unescaped siteurl output
Published Sep 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2024
Stored XSS in admin_collect_news.php in SeaCMS 12.9 allows remote attackers to execute scripts through a crafted siteurl value. The addrule handler embeds siteurl in listconfig and admin_collect_ruleadd2test.htm echoes it into a hidden input without HTML encoding. Execution occurs when the generated administrative page is rendered, allowing the script to read or modify data available to the victim's browser session.
