Authenticated device compromise via unbounded weburl formatting
Published May 5, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda i21 1.0.0.14(4656) allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via a crafted POST request. The formOfflineSet handler passes attacker-controlled GO and ssidIndex values to sprintf when constructing the fixed-size weburl stack buffer, without a length bound. An authenticated web-management session is required; the resulting memory corruption can compromise the access point's confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
