Stored script execution via unencoded ad description
Published Aug 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 30, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in SeaCMS 12.9 admin_ads.php allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted ad description. The edit flow persists the intro parameter, and admin_ads_edit.htm inserts the stored value into an HTML value attribute without encoding. Authenticated backend ad-edit access and a victim opening the edited page are required, exposing the victim's SeaCMS session to attacker-controlled browser actions.
