Stored script execution via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Jun 7, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in WP Royal Royal Addons for Elementor 1.3.976 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via SVG uploads. The custom_upload_mimes filter permits SVG files without sanitizing their active content or safely escaping that content when a page renders it. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser whenever a user visits the injected page.
