Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file renaming
Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in moziloCMS 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through the administrative file manager. The file manager accepts PHP code concealed in a JPG file and permits its extension to be renamed to PHP, after which the web server executes it. Administrator access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-supplied code under the web server account.
