Stored cross-site scripting via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published May 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Creative Themes Blocksy Companion 2.0.45 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via SVG uploads. The SVG upload handler accepts embedded active content without adequate sanitization, and page output fails to escape that content before rendering it. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the script runs when a user visits the affected page, allowing access to data and actions available in that user's site session.
