Authenticated code execution via incomplete option filtering
Published Sep 6, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Command injection in DrayTek Vigor3900 Firmware 1.5.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands. The /www/cgi-bin/mainfunction.cgi dumpSyslog action passes the option field through filter_string, which leaves spaces and ampersands intact before later shell use. A valid SESSION_ID_VIGOR cookie is required; injected commands can create files, download payloads, and execute code on the router.
