Authenticated command execution via incomplete name filtering
Published Sep 6, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Command injection in DrayTek Vigor3900 Firmware 1.5.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via crafted HTTP requests. In /www/cgi-bin/mainfunction.cgi, filter_string passes the name field to run_command after replacing several metacharacters but leaving spaces and single ampersands intact. A valid SESSION_ID_VIGOR cookie is required; a crafted get_cert_content request can run shell commands with the appliance service's privileges.
