Unauthenticated charging control via unchecked WebSocket handshake
Published Apr 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 16, 2025
Authentication bypass in SteVe 3.7.1 allows remote attackers to control charging operations through crafted OCPP WebSocket requests. OcppWebSocketHandshakeHandler accepts a registered charge-box identifier and supported protocol, then completes the handshake without validating credentials. Reachability requires a valid or guessed charge-box identifier; accepted OCPP messages can alter connector data and initiate transactions.
