CVE-2024-44815Public exploit

Credential disclosure via plaintext SPI flash storage

Published Sep 10, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024

Plaintext credential storage in Skyworth Digital CM5100 4.1.1.24 allows physically proximate attackers to obtain router credentials. The firmware writes the web-portal login and Wi-Fi access-point credentials in plaintext at known offsets in the W25Q64JV SPI flash. Physical teardown, flash-chip removal, and programmer-assisted reading expose even user-changed credentials, enabling access to the web portal and Wi-Fi network.
