CVE-2024-44765Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Sensitive file disclosure via editable NGINX document root

Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Jul 5, 2026

Incorrect authorization in CloudPanel Community Edition before 2.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive server files. The vhost editor lets low-privilege site users replace the NGINX document root with CloudPanel application or other server directories, then exposes requested files through the managed website. A valid low-privilege CloudPanel account and control of a site's vhost are required; exposed data includes environment secrets, the SQLite database, SSH keys, and password hashes.
