CVE-2024-4469Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator-gated internal network probing via backup URL

Published May 31, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

SSRF in WP STAGING before 3.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to probe internal network services through crafted backup URLs. The Upload Backup workflow accepts a user-supplied URL and requests loopback or internal addresses, exposing open-port status through response differences. Administrator access is required, and the flaw is especially relevant to multisite deployments where such users can map services reachable from the WordPress host.
