SMTP credential disclosure via reflected WebAPI response
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Sep 13, 2024
Sensitive information exposure in Titan SFTP Server 2.0.25.2426 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read SMTP passwords. When an administrator updates SMTP settings in the Web UI, the WebAPI returns BasicEmailServerCreds, including the submitted password, unchanged in its JSON response. Administrative access is required, and the disclosure is limited to SMTP credentials present in that configuration transaction.
