Authenticated command execution via encoded ssid parameter
Published Sep 25, 2024 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
OS command injection in Gigastone TR1 Travel Router R101 firmware 1.0.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via HTTP. The tr1.cgi handler processes a Base64-encoded ssid value as a device command; a demonstrated value starts telnetd with /bin/sh. A valid TR1_ADMIN session cookie and adjacent-network access are required, and exploitation can reboot the router and expose a root-capable Telnet shell.
