Unauthenticated remote code execution via shell interpolation
Published Sep 16, 2024 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Command injection in TuomoKu SPX Graphics Controller 1.3.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary shell commands. The unauthenticated /api/openFileFolder route places the file query parameter into a quoted child_process.exec command without escaping shell metacharacters. Any network client that can reach the web interface can run commands with the SPX process account, while command output is not returned directly.
