CVE-2024-44565Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution or crash via oversized serverName

Published Aug 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 26, 2024

A stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX1806 Firmware 1.0.0.1 allows attackers to corrupt memory through the serverName parameter. The form_fast_setting_internet_set handler accepts an oversized serverName without validating its length, causing a write beyond a stack buffer. Published access assessments differ: NVD treats the path as unauthenticated over a network, while CISA requires adjacent access and low privileges; successful exploitation causes a router crash or arbitrary code execution.
