Contributor-level browser script execution via unescaped pagination output
Published May 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Content Views 3.7.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the pagingType parameter. The pagination renderer in includes/html.php places the stored pagingType value into generated page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to save the payload, which runs in a visitor's browser when the injected page is opened.
