Web service crash via unchecked dbsrv_asp copy
Published Oct 11, 2024 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Buffer overflow in D-Link DI-8200 Firmware 16.07.26A1 allows remote authenticated users to crash its web service via a crafted str value. The dbsrv_asp function copies the request's str parameter into a 1,200-byte destination with strcpy without checking its length. The public proof of concept supplies an administrator session cookie and demonstrates loss of web access; no code execution is shown.
